Can I get a refund?
If we find any ads that breach our
terms and conditions, which includes our posting rules, we will remove them and send the poster an email explaining why they have been removed.
At our discretion, where we believe an honest mistake has been made by the poster, we will refund any fees paid. We will process refunds within 1 week of the ad being removed, if not sooner.
However, we reserve the right to remove ads that breach our
terms and conditions without refund.
If your ad has been removed and you have not received a refund within 7 days,
contact us.

- It’s a simple, convenient way to find/sell items and services in your local community.
- You can buy/sell in your local town/area or across South Africa.
- As a Seller you can reach the widest audience, promoting your Ads with any/all of the 'paid for services', 'Featured Ad, Top of Category Ad or Highlighted Ad, which stays active for the full duration your Ad stays active, 14 days!

Posting an ad is absolutely FREE!
- It’s very simple to add images. While posting an ad, there’s an option to 'Select Images'.
- If you have already posted an ad and want to add a new image, simply go to your 'User Dashboard' (you must be logged in to do this) and click the Edit icon. You’ll be able to add new images or remove existing ones.
- Ads stay active for 14 days. If you want, you can extend your ad for a longer period.
- You will be contacted via email when your ad expires, and you will then be given the opportunity to re-list it.
You can manage your ads from your User dashboard. Simply click the 'my dashboard' link at the top of every page, or the 'Manage ads' button on the home page, and you will be able to make changes to your ads, including adding new images and/or removing existing ones, editing the content, 'pausing' your ads or marking your ads as 'sold'!
- Try to create a bold, interesting title. This will go a long way towards attracting attention to your ad.
- Describe your item as clearly as possible, the more details you provide the more likely you are to attract customers and achieve a sale.
- Add images! Ads with images are viewed far more than ads without them.
- Don’t use the caps lock. This is considered to be ‘shouting’ and is poor etiquette.
- Purchase the 'Featured Ad', 'Top of category ad' or 'highlighted ad' options!
- Credit card purchases: We use http://www.2checkout.com/, as they do support South African (ZAR) currency!
- Bank EFT: Instructions will get mailed to you after Ad submission.
- 'PayPal' and 'Google Checkout' will be incorporated into our website, once our currency gets incorporated into their plugins!
To create a profile, simply click the
Register button. You will be guided through the steps of creating a profile.
- You need to be logged in to access your profile.
- You can access your profile at any time via the 'My dashboard' link at the top of the page, or from the 'Manage ads' button on the home page.
- Edit your profile via the 'Edit profile' button on the home page.
The User dashboard is where you have full control over your ads and user Profile.
- Easily manage your ads. 'edit', 'pause' or 'mark as sold'!
- Easily manage your profile, 'contact info', 'password' and more!
Don't worry, you can set a new password at any time. The login form has a
Lost password link - click this link and you will be guided through the steps to set a new password.
There are two simple ways to do this:
- Yes, simply tick the 'Notify me of follow-up comments by email' and 'Notify me of new posts by email' when leaving a reply on an ad, and you will receive updates via email on that particular ad!
- Or by clicking on 'Add to Favourites' below each ad listing. All your favourite ads may also be viewed here
You can create a RSS subscription based on a search query. Just to the right of the category heading, you will find a RSS button. Click this button and the RSS link / options will be displayed.
General guidelines
- Include as much detailed information as possible.
- Advertise only one service/item in a single ad. If you have more than one service/item to offer, create a separate ad for each.
Prohibited goods/services/ads
- Drugs
- Weapons
- Adult material / paid sex
- Cigarettes and tobacco products
- Pharmaceutical products
- Human organs
- Stolen goods
- Goods that are hazardous to health
- Animals threatened with extinction
- Fraudulent Ads, pertaining to false services, products and 'scams'!
Ads should not:
- Contain offensive, discriminatory or vulgar language
- Promote fraudulent activities
- Be advertised in inappropriate categories
- Propagate violence, hate speech, racism, xenophobia
- Contain misleading information (eg. Advertising goods that do not exist – “baiting/scamming”)
- Advertise services that compete with Netads Classifieds
- Contain links to viruses or other malicious applications
Please help us to identify any ads that may be inappropriate by reporting them. The following categories apply:
- Fraud
- Spam
- Violations of the Terms and Conditions
- Wrong category
- Out of date

- On the ad page, you will find a list of contact details. If the phone number is listed, you can phone the seller directly.
- You can email the seller through the system by clicking on 'Contact' and filling in the 'contact' form. Netads Classifieds will email your message to the seller. The seller will then be able to reply directly to your email, and your conversation may continue independently of Netads Classifieds.
No, Netads Classifieds does not facilitate transactions. All aspects of the transaction, including payment, are conducted between seller and buyer, independently of Netads Classifieds.
- Arrange to meet the seller in a public place with other people around or ask a friend to accompany you to the meeting.
- Check the item to make sure it is exactly as described in the ad. If possible, test it to make sure it works.
- The simplest method of payment is cash. However, make sure you view the item before you pay for it!
- Remember, you are not obliged to purchase the item if you are not happy with it, or it doesn’t match the description in the ad.
- If the item is expensive, do a bank transfer / EFT rather than paying in cash. However, do not pay for an item until you have seen the item and met with the seller, especially with regard to pets/electronics and any form of deposits.
- If the person is advertising a service, ask for references of people they have done work for already.
- Where possible agree to the terms of your arrangement in writing.
