Description

After Disaster (i.e. Fire and Flood damage) restoration company based in Killarney Gardens is looking for a Response Technician to join its exciting and rapidly expanding company. Positions available in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth, Durban and East London.

The incumbent will be responsible for attending to clients on site and providing them with technical support in after disaster interventions.
The successful incumbent will display the following competencies:
• A completed Matric
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• A minimum of one year experience in a similar or related position
• Must be a team player and should be able to cooperate and relate well with others.
• A well disciplined and highly motivated individual
• Must possess analytical and conceptual skills
• Be Computer literate
• Results driven
Must be willing to work long hours and weekends
• Must be able to speak , read and write in at least two of the official languages
• Certificate in disaster management and or firefighting will be an added advantage

Major Duties and responsibilities for the job include but are not limited to the following:-

• Receives calls from call centre regarding details of clients and the nature of their problems.
• Attends to clients site, assesses the problems and provides technical intervention to solve the problem.
• Assigns work to Service Technician Assistants and ensures that they carry out work according to advised standards.
• Takes broken down equipment to workshop for maintenance same day of break down.
• Cleans workstation after day’s work.
• Collects C.O.D and prepares customer invoice.
• Completes Thursday report on Vehicle and machine location and submits it to Field Manager.
• Submits petrol slips to field Manager at end of day’s work.
• Itemises and labels all fire/flood damaged goods removed from site to ensure correct identification when returning to customer.
